Lauren's sweet heart and passion for living in the moment inspires me!
Halloween 2015 fell on a Saturday which turned out to be a popular day for weddings. The day, which is already associated with fun and celebration is remade into a day remembered for celebrating a bride, her groom and a wedding party full of bridesmaids. Getting married on such a holiday offers a great way of commemorating a day that most girls look forward to all their lives.
The day began at the perfect time, 9:30a. This allowed the girls to get a good night's sleep and wake up refreshed...as if any bride sleeps well the night before one of the biggest days of her life. Lauren, the bride, and her bridesmaids all stayed in the bridal suite at the Blackwell Hotel on Ohio State University's campus.
It just happened to be a bye week for the nationally recognized Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeye's 9-0 record (Undisputable National Championship) is an undeniable part of conversation in Columbus, Ohio. Can't mention the Blackwell Hotel and not mention OSU Buckeyes!
Lauren's wedding party consisted of eight people total. The beautiful bride-to-be, 6 bridesmaids and her mother. Arriving at 9:30a allowed for the perfect amount of time for styling everyone perfectly by 1p. The girls wore their hair a variety of ways. Some wanted their hair styled all down, half up and pulled to the side in a polished ponytail type style. Lauren wore her hair curled with the sides pulled back, keeping as much length as possible. Her beautiful golden hair looked amazing and she was most definitely ready for the time of her life!
Joy Macke of State of Face Makeup Artistry, Columbus was a part of the glamour squad that day. She created a beautiful and personalized look for each girl and everyone was very happy. Joy's work is featured all over the Columbus area as she is a go-to makeup artist around here. www.StateofFace.com for Joy's Work.
Photography was done by Greybird Galleries, Wedding and Lifestyle Photography, Columbus, Ohio. Kate Horgan is quite a gem, I hear. Her work is remarkable and she is definitely a photographer to keep an eye on in the Columbus area. I follow her on instagram and her work is quite eye catching! Greybird Galleries, Kate Horgan's work has been featured on "Popsugar", "Elegant Wedding", "Society Bride", "Wedding Colors", "The Inspired Bride", and many more I am sure. Check them out.
Greybird Galleries also shot Lauren's engagement session. Check it out: www.GreyBirdGalleries.com Talk about some rockin' engagement photos!!
Friends and family came in and out during the getting ready process, however, the girls were full of fun conversation. Grandma and Mom were there to help with everything and to be part of the day. Mother of the Bride wore her hair all down with wand curls. It looks beautiful.
Pop culture reference were making their way in and out of conversations throughout the day, especially between one of the bridesmaids and Joy. The mood was lighthearted and fun. At one point a bee made it's way into our room and caused a little (very funny) panic. The bee was caught and put out the window in a cup. ha!
Lauren's nails were pretty and unique. They were expertly done at Mod Salon with intricate design. A girl just has to have perfect nails for one of the best days of her life. The bride and bridesmaids had gone together the day before the wedding to get manicures with gel polish, I believe.
The adorning flowers would be provided by "Madison House Designs" out of Marysville, Ohio. "BOUTIQUE-STYLED WEDDING FLOWERS FOR THE COLUMBUS, OHIO AREA." You can find their work here: http://madisonhousedesigns.com
The attire including the Bride's dress and Bridesmaid's dresses came from David's Bridal. The Men's Warehouse provided the Groom's attire.
The Holy Cross Catholic Church would be the location for the ceremony to join the two together. After a dreamy service the celebration would resume at the Ohio State University Faculty Club.
A couple weeks after the wedding Lauren surprised me with the following email.
"I wanted to thank you so much for the amazing job you did with all of our hair. It is like you waive a magic wand and whip up a masterpiece. The girls and my mom were beyond thrilled. You gave us all so much confidence to take on an incredible stressful and fun day. I can't thank you enough. I had so much fun with you and Joy and I know the girls and myself will be using you in the future."
Honestly, I was so very honored and humbled by the gratitude. Thank you so much, Lauren, for letting me be part of your day.
